Cup of Gold #5 is a 20.66 acre unpatented lode mining claim. Highly mineralized and situated on the eastern slopes of the mineral rich Bradshaw Mountains at an elevation of about 3200 ft.
Previous workings on adjoining claims provide a great insight into the mineralization here. According to old state reports the adjoining property has been developed by a 40 ft inclined shaft on the south end of the claim. The shaft was sunk with the plan to explore one of the many gold-silver rich veins that strike in a north-south direction. The old reports mention silver at 3 opt and visible gold in gray quartz veins.
Our testing recovered coarse placer gold up to 3 gram pieces and small quartz specimens with visible raisin like clusters of gold just down slope from the outcrops. With detectors and dry washers one could harvest a nice batch of gold and specimens with a little effort.
