Yavapai schist is the host rock for the gold mineralization on this group of claims. This claim is on the highly mineralized trend that varies in width from 5 to over 12 miles in width and runs from south of Rock Springs in the south to Jerome to the north, a distance of over 70 miles in length. A large amount of the mineralized rock is concealed by thin alluvial cover and tertiary volcanics mostly to the east, the main reason why the large variation of width. The host rock in this trend is largely Precambrian schist, with chert and banded iron formation as useful marker horizons. The mineralized schist hosts VMS (volcanogenic massive sulfide) deposits, generally rich in copper, gold, lead, zinc and silver. Numerous quartz veins, some gold rich are found cutting the schist. Placer gold can be found in many of the washes and gulches with occasional multi ounce nuggets recovered using a metal detector.

The lode gold is found in liminoite stained, vuggy quartz veins and stringers that traverse the schist. Some of the veins are concealed with thin layers of alluvium.

Placer gold in the form of fines, flakes and small nuggets are found on the claims in desert washes, gulches and the slopes below the gold vein outcrops.
