Placer gold consisting of fines and small pieces up to 0.5 grams were recovered from our testing. The gold on these claims could be from the very rich outcrops at the Vulture Mine about 400 ft higher and several miles to the north and from numerous gold veins upslope now concealed by alluvium.
According to old records there was a small gold recovery plant on the claims that operated briefly in 1975-1976. Records indicate that the operators recovered hi-grade gold and silver in their concentrates but were not successful in separating and recovering the finished product. With advances made in recovery equipment that problem should easily be eliminated.
There is a well on the claims and water for domestic use may be obtained from the rancher who has grazing rights for his cattle with his permission.
