- A 1.2 ounce nugget was recovered by Steve with a detector about a mile downstream to the east in cemented gravels about 4 feet from the floor of Coyote Wash in a high bench. This nugget was well water worn and smooth meaning it had traveled considerable distance.
In our testing in the washes themselves we recovered small flakes and pickers that showed no wear, but were ragged and had not traveled far from their source. Several thin gold bearing quartz veins show up in washes and gulches. After each rain storm they are covered or uncovered by several feet of alluvium. The cracks and crevices have turned up some nice gold and a shop vac is the easiest way to recover.
Big Nugget Gulch placer claims are located about 25 miles S-SW of Wickenburg in Maricopa County. Wickenburg is a full service town with a beautiful golf course and airport. Access by paved road for about 18 miles with the remainder a good dirt road for a vehicle with decent clearance. There are a few washes that get cut up from time to time with our monsoon storms. Please check the last few miles prior to attempting access. There are several ways to access the claim, from Wickenburg and or Aguila, both from highway 60
Located on the northeastern flanks of the Belmont Mountains. The claim group is about 2 miles north east of the Black Pearl Mine and about one mile northeast of the Scott Mine.
On the next business day, you will receive an email from us that includes: your receipt, a copy of the topographical map for your claim, a link to your claim plotted in Google Earth and the GPS coordinates for your claim.
Within 2 weeks you will receive your claim packet in the mail that will contain hard copies of these documents as well as the Location Notice and a full size topographical map. Upon payment in full, we process the claim into your name with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and County.
You are responsible for the annual maintenance fee due to the BLM prior to September 1st, effective upon date of purchase, in order to keep the claim active. The current rate is $200.00.
New Claim Tour:
You can schedule a tour of your new claim(s) with our field tech. Our tech will guide you to your claim and show you to a corner post of it. They will be sure to point out any specific areas of interest and help you start your new gold mining adventure right! The New Claim Tour starts at $500.00. Please call us to discuss and arrange this service. Time and availability are limited, please be sure to schedule this tour in advance.
Claim Exploration Adventure:
We will organize a 1 day Claim Exploration Adventure with prospective Miners to go into the field and explore multiple claims within a specific area. You get to see the terrain, the water accessibility and road access in person. We will show you the beautiful Arizona rock formations and unique attributes of our available claims. The Claim Exploration Adventure is $1500.00 for a full day tour, $500.00 of which can be applied to your new claim purchase within 30 days of your completed tour.
