Gold bearing rusty quartz veins cut coarse grained granite in an east-west direction. We suspect these veins are connected to the San Marcos Mine to the east. Placer gold has been recovered on the slopes and in the deep wash to the south end of the claim at a depth of 4-6 feet. There we recovered fines, flakes and a few water worn pickers. The largest pickers along with visible gold bearing quartz specimens are often found near the small quartz outcrops and the rusty, iron stained shear zones. Gold-quartz specimens can be found digging through the small mine dumps and breaking off chunks of quartz from the outcrops.
The Gold Country group is located about 4 miles southeast of the small town of Wenden and HWY 60 in La Paz County. The claims are a block of 4 lode claims about 1 mile due west of the well known San Marcos Mine. Access is fair to good with several ways to access the claim from the northwest and the southeast. The roads are rough in spots from several summer monsoon storms and can be accessed by high centered 2 wheel drive, 4x4 or ATV. A larger town, Salome is about 4 miles west of Wenden. The claim is about 86 miles NW of Phoenix.
On the next business day, you will receive an email from us that includes: your receipt, a copy of the topographical map for your claim, a link to your claim plotted in Google Earth and the GPS coordinates for your claim.
Within 2 weeks you will receive your claim packet in the mail that will contain hard copies of these documents as well as the Location Notice and a full size topographical map. Upon payment in full, we process the claim into your name with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and County.
You are responsible for the annual maintenance fee due to the BLM prior to September 1st, effective upon date of purchase, in order to keep the claim active. The current rate is $200.00
